With its membership drawn mainly from the UK, but also from mainland Europe and North America, the PSS-GB has been active for over 50 years in catering for collectors interested in precancelled stamps and postal stationery. This friendly and informal Society provides a focus for members of all ages, from the beginner to the experienced, and from the occasional dabbler to the enthusiastic addict. It is affiliated to the Precancel Stamp Society Inc, the principal body in the USA for collectors of these issues.

Among the services which members enjoy are:

  • A newsletter — PRECANCELS — issued six times a year and packed with up-to-date information
  • A comprehensive library of precancel and other philatelic literature. Click here for the Library List
  • Regular meetings in and around London and occasionally in other provincial centres
  • Regular and frequent exchange packets for UK members
  • Annual postal auctions

and lots more.

We also have an index of articles published in our magazine in their various forms from 1947 to 2009 and a List of Articles published in the same journals which will be of great benefit to researchers in this field. Our thanks go to member Mike Cox for providing these documents.
